Mavera, a Verisk business, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Afa Försäkring in its home market of Sweden. With this collaboration, another major Swedish insurer has chosen Mavera as its strategic partner for independent medical assessments, gaining increased automation, high quality, and access to an extensive network of medical advisors.
Afa Försäkring employs approximately 700 people and is owned by Sweden’s labour market parties. Afa Försäkring is a key player in Sweden’s social insurance landscape, offering protection based on collective agreements between the country’s labour market parties. Their insurance solutions provide financial support in critical life situations, such as incapacity for work due to illness or injury, unemployment, death, and parental leave. In total, more than five million people are covered by at least one of Afa Försäkring’s insurance policies.
So why Mavera?

Niklas continues: “We initially tested Mavera DSS with a smaller number of cases and are now scaling it across more users and departments. We are very satisfied with the collaboration so far, including the onboarding process, the strong focus on quality, and the high level of competence within both the medical advisor network and the Mavera operations team.”
